A Patient Participation Group (PPG) is a joint venture between a general practice and its patient population.
Working in partnership with the practice, a PPG can help to make services more user-friendly and improve patient experience. By identifying issues that are important to patients, it can improve and influence the way in which services are planned and delivered and increase patients’ confidence in the healthcare provided.
We have both a mainly Virtual PPG – this means we contact members electronically via email to inform them of events/meetings that may be of interest to them. The Group can provide feedback on the range and quality of the services and also to generate ideas for areas to improve.
Our aim is to work with as many different patients as possible and to make sure that the group is as fair a representation of our entire patient population as we can achieve.
The main role of the Group is to give us feedback on any areas where we are seeking to improve or alter services. These alterations could be due to NHS involvement, a suggestion or complaint from a patient, an internal suggestion or an idea from a PPG member.
